Hing Kee Restaurant 興記菜館 @ Temple Street,Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong

Claypot rice is popular in many Asian countries, it is typically served with chinese sausage and chicken. The rice cooked in the claypot first and cooked ingredients like chinese sausage, chicken are added in later. Traditionally, the cooking is done over a charcoal stove.

Hing Kee Restaurant is opened in 1980. The restaurant is located right in the middle of Temple Street, they offers a wide selection of claypot rice at street local prices.

They have a few storefronts but yet still need to queue up for a seat.

The restaurant has the capacity to seat up to 200++ patrons.

Claypot Chicken and chinese sausage rice (HKD 28)
Diced chicken and chinese sausage are placed on the top of rice.
Compared to the other claypot chicken rice I had in Malaysia, claypot rice in Hong Kong is served without any sauce.

Soy sauce for claypot rice

We need to pour the soy sauce on the rice and stirred it till the rice turned brownish.

Shredded Chicken Ho Fun Soup (around HKD 40)
Just wondering why this Ho Fun is more expensive than claypot rice...
